Paphiopedilum and Phaleanopsis Photos

Last week the flower shop received two paphiopedilum orchid plants for St. Patrick’s Day. The flowers of this orchid are beautiful. Some call them “lady slippers” and orchid people call them “paphs.” But whatever you call them, they’re a truly unique flower.

I also took some photos of a miniature phalaenopsis orchid. These plants are everywhere, from Lowes to the grocery store. While there are many growers of this orchids, most of the ones I see come from Just Add Ice Orchids. But no matter where they’re from, it’s great to see that these amazing flowers are so readily available.

When I look at close-up pictures of orchids, I can understand how people can get hooked on this flower family. There are so many varieties and all of the flowers are unusual.
